A study found, women would regularly pretend to have orgasms as a strategic partner in order to remain faithful. Scientists from New York and Michigan found, the action is performed more women who suspect their partner having an affair.
These women were also more likely to have suspicions about their partners than women who said never faked an orgasm. The report in the journal Archieve of Sexual Behaviors revealed, they are also more likely to dress up more to tell other women that they are interesting people.
Farnaz Kaighobadi studies from Columbia University and Todd Shackelford and Viviana Weekes-Shackelford, of Oakland University of Michigan studied women aged 18-24 years who had a relationship for at least six months.
"One of the special reasons arising from this research is to keep the couple remain interested in the relationship or to prevent him in touch with other women," said Kaighobadi told Live Science quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
These findings, he says, can help inform academic debate about whether female orgasm is obtained from adaptive evolution. The researchers argue, female orgasm is a way to make him stay interested and valued partner.
